The purpose of the children's bedside table

The usefulness of a children's bedside table varies with age. It's not always accessible to the child. Indeed, you can place it near a crib, where it will serve as a support for the night light that prevents the room from being completely dark.

Later, when using a child's bed, the bedside table will become the support for the bedside lamp, as well as various objects: bedtime book, comics, glasses, tissues, water glass, alarm clock, stuffed animal, etc.

Additionally, the bedside table can serve as a storage unit. In this case, you'll choose a design that includes drawers, shelves, or a cabinet. Children can store their precious items, such as glasses that will be protected from falls, books they plan to read, toys, etc. Storage spaces are also valuable for keeping items dust-free and making cleaning easier. To choose the right children's bedside table model, you should therefore consider how your child will use it.

The children's night table to separate two beds

The children's bedside table proves very useful when two children share a room. Depending on the available space, each child can have their own furniture, but they can also share a common bedside table when the room isn't spacious enough.

The children's night table then serves both as a storage unit and as a divider between the two beds.

How to choose your children's bedside table?

The amount of items you want to store in the night table primarily determines the type of night table you need.

Available space

Next, consider the space you have available. Chambrekids has designed various styles so you can find one that will integrate harmoniously into the room. Measure the space precisely, as it can sometimes come down to just a few centimeters.

The children's bedside table should be placed next to the bed, but it shouldn't obstruct access to it, which can sometimes be an issue in small rooms.

Bed shelf for small rooms

If you lack space for a children's bedside table, you can opt for a bed shelf. Its size is reduced, but it allows you to place a bedside lamp, essential for reading, an alarm clock, or a pair of glasses.

The bed shelf has the advantage of not taking up space and being removable. It features a screw-free mounting system that ensures stability. You can install and remove it with a single gesture. The only requirement is having a bed panel no thicker than 2 centimeters.

The height of the children's bedside table

The height of the children's bedside table should be adapted to the bed's height, so your child can find their belongings within reach. If they want to grab a tissue or drink some water during the night, they should be able to do so with one gesture, without having to get up.

Colors and design

The colors we offer are natural, in light and pastel shades. Any bright color disrupts a child's serenity and affects their sleep. Chambrekids offers its children's bedside table models in white, natural wood color, or gray.

As for the design, you're free to choose the one that will match the room's decor most closely.

Materials of the children's bedside table

Chambrekids offers children's bedside tables in solid wood and ecological MDF panels.

Solid wood

All Chambrekids furniture is made of solid wood, sourced from sustainably managed French forests. Planned plantations and controlled cutting ensure the natural renewal of trees.

Ecological MDF panels

We also use ecological MDF panels. This acronym stands for Medium Density Fiberboard. These are composite panels made of wood fibers and a binding agent. The fibers undergo careful sorting, washing, and dust removal before being bound together. After gluing and pressure drying, the wood panel becomes sturdy and durable.

For superior aesthetic appeal, our ecological MDF panels can be covered with natural wood veneer, such as beech.

The wood fibers used in manufacturing our MDF panels come from the same French forests, managed sustainably and responsibly.

Healthy and ecological paints

The pitfall of wooden furniture often lies in the use of paints with harmful emissions. Indeed, the solvents in their composition contain VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) that release fine particles into the atmosphere which we breathe without realizing it.

For children's bedside tables, Chambrekids only uses paints made from natural pigments and water, without solvents, thus ensuring a healthy atmosphere in the room.
