Which mattress to use with a trundle bed drawer? 

It is entirely possible to opt for a 5-inch thick mattress or a 6-inch one. This will mainly depend on your preferences. With a 5-inch mattress, you leave enough space under the main bed to store a small duvet. With a 6-inch mattress, you won't be able to put a duvet when the drawer is stored. However, it's also very interesting to have two mattresses of the same dimension to have a substantially identical height when the drawer is unfolded.
