Why install a bookshelf in a teen's room? 

Although we should never generalize, it's common for a teenager's bedroom organization to be less than ideal! However, if you ask them to organize their belongings, you need to provide them with the means to do so. The teen bookshelf becomes a valuable asset for organizing their room. It can store books, comics or manga, but also all kinds of small items: video games, board games, decorative items, photo frames, laptop, tablet, etc.

Wood: a reliable choice for furniture

Chambrekids relies on wood for manufacturing sturdy teen bookshelves that are durable and have a warm appearance. Wood is a material that's pleasant to both look at and touch. It's actually the basis for most of our furniture. However, we can use a metal frame, as is the case with the Bahia model.

Chambrekids only uses wood sourced from forests cultivated with preservation in mind. We do not participate in deforestation in any way by harvesting species that are systematically replaced with new plants. Every eco-managed forest guarantees environmental sustainability.
 

Solid wood and veneered ecological MDF panels

For manufacturing our bookshelves, we use solid wood, as well as MDF panels (Medium Density Fiberboard). This is a panel made of glued and pressed wood fibers. It's as easy to work with as solid wood. Its strength and durability are also comparable to solid wood. Finally, ecological MDF panels contain no harmful substances that could be dispersed into the atmosphere.

The wood that makes up the board comes from the same forests as the solid wood we use, thus guaranteeing environmental responsibility. 

Finally, to achieve a natural appearance, our MDF panels are veneered with real wood, particularly beech.

Eco-friendly coatings and paints

Air pollution has become a major concern for our health. While some outdoor atmospheres are contaminated by human activity (car traffic, industry, various emissions, particularly from heating devices, etc.), our indoor atmosphere often proves to be even more polluted. We must consider the emissions from our activities, such as cooking or DIY for example, but also passive contamination due to our furnishings. Some synthetic materials and certain coatings emit - without us realizing it - fine particles that disperse in the air. These particles infiltrate our lungs when we breathe. This is particularly true for VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds. Among them, benzene and formaldehyde are considered the most common and most toxic.

VOCs are used in many processes, mainly as solvents, degreasers, dissolvers, cleaning agents, preservatives, synthesis agents, etc. To avoid any contamination, Chambrekids only uses solvent-free paints. They are composed of natural pigments and water. Our paints thus feature natural colors, ideal for blending into room decor. They are durable and emit no harmful particles.
